How to use this site

  • To begin, select from the menu bar. (In most instances you will want to ‘Find a Community Group’.) Click your selection.
  • Most pages are single pages. On many pages you will need to use the side scroll function to read all of the content. See the note at the bottom of this page for information about printing the directory.
  • If you have clicked ‘Find a Community Group’ you will be taken to a new page where you have the choice of viewing all groups in the database, or you may narrow your selection to groups of a specific type or those in a specific location e.g. suburb, town etc (or you may use both criteria).
  • Please note; as you refine your search your options decrease. We advise you to make only one or two selections in the first instance. This gives you access to more results. For example; If you are looking for an exercise group in your own suburb it may be better to select just 'Fitness and Recreation' rather than adding your suburb to the search. Your ideal exercise group may be located in an adjoining suburb. Remember; the more boxes you tick the fewer your results. Click SUBMIT.
  • The resulting list matching your search request, is arranged randomly. You can arrange it alphabetically by clicking the underlined words. The name of each group is underlined and by clicking this you will be taken through to the group’s own information page.
  • To reselect, either click on the menu again or use the go back button at the top of the screen until you get to the selection page, clear your previous selection and re-enter the details you require and click SUBMIT.
  • Information becomes more specific as you move through the site. Use the scroll function to view the whole page. To move around the site use the section lists at the top and bottom of the pages, 'keyword search' or use the back and forward functions on your toolbar.
  • You can support this project by briefly emailing or those groups whose page you have visited and telling them that you found information about them this website. If you make contact as a result of finding information on the website do make it known that you found the information on ‘Enliven connect’.

How to use the maps

The maps are not static. You can zoom in and out on them and pull them around until you find the place you are looking for. To zoom in and out - put your cursor on the slide bar, left click and move the slide up and down. To pull the map around left click your mouse and ‘hold’ it down. Move to around and release the ‘hold’ to stop.

Printing

If you click ‘Print the Directory’ you can obtain a nicely printed version of all the information on the website. You need the 'Adobe Reader' programme to open it. ‘Adobe Reader’ is a safe programme and many new computers now come with it already installed. If it is not on your computer you can download from this website. It is free and you will find in on the ‘Print the Directory’ page. 'Adobe Reader' is generally straightforward to install – click the icon displayed and follow the instructions on your screen.

If you want to print a section of pages e.g. those resulting from a search just use the usual print function either on the webpage or selected from your toolbar.
