Age Concern Central Hawkes Bay

TEA & COFFEE MORNING 

Held 2nd and last Friday of the month at the Masonic Lodge.  Cost: $2 Morning Tea and  $1 Housie.  Raffles and sales table available.  Everyone welcome.  10th & 24th September 2010

PODIATRIST

 We have a Podiatrist who visits once a month.  The cost is $30.00 and you can book an appointment through the office on 8589 158. Monday 20th September & Friday 24th September 2010

SENIOR CITZ

Transport Available $4.00. Next meeting will be 16th September 2010.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED MEETING(VIP)

 Thursday 9th September 2010 at Woburn Home 1.30pm. 

CARDS 500

Every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm to 4.00pm.  Cost $2.00 plus raffle. 

APPEAL DAY

  Friday 10th September 2010.  We are going to have tables manned outside New World, Waipukurau, Waipawa and Woolworth's.  Shirley will contact you regarding your ability to help.

HEALTH PROMOTION 

Wednesday 15th September 2010. " Healthy, Happier, Wiser/Fall Prevention".  At St Andrews Church Hall from 9.30 to 3pm.  Morning Tea and lunch provided.  No cost.  Transport available.  A fun and interactive day for all.  Interesting Guest Speakers including our Physiotherapists.  To register please contact the office 8589 158.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE OLDER PERSON

Friday 1st October 2010 at St Andrews Church hall, 9.30  for a cup of tea.  Entertainment and lunch provided.  No Cost.  Please ring the office to put your name down.  Transport available.

What's New at Age Concern Flaxmere in August?

Dates to Remember:

Age Concern Flaxmere's 16th A.G.M. will be held on 25th August, 11am at the Western Suburbs Rugby Clubrooms, (cnr Chatham and Portsmouth Rds, Flaxmere). All are welcome to attend.

Tai Chi classes start on Tuesdays down at the Western Suburbs Rugby Clubrooms. Start time 11 - 11.45am. Cost is $3.00 a session. Register your interest by calling us at the office, 879-7003.

Every Tuesday is our indoor bowls day (1pm-3pm) at the Western Suburbs Rugby Club (cnr Chatham and Portsmouth Rds). Our members have a load of fun here competing or just having social games. Let us know if you need a ride and we'll organize for you to be picked up. Ph: 879-7003.

Wednesday is our Social Day down at the Western Suburbs Rugby Club. The day starts at 9.30am - 1.30pm. The day consists of "Sit and Be Fit" classes run by Sport Hawkes Bay, morning tea, social pool and card games, and sharing and enjoying good company. Come along and check out what Age Concern Flaxmere is all about.

All of the above activities are held at the Western Suburbs Rugby Club, (Ron Giorgi Park) on the corner of Chatham and Portsmouth Rds in Flaxmere. All elderly in the community are most welcome to come along and enjoy the fun!

Just a kind reminder that there are still some outstanding subscriptions to be paid for the 2010/2011 year, so if you know you haven't yet paid your subs please come and see us at the office (30 Swansea Rd, Flaxmere, at the back of the community centre)
